Anna Becker was born in Manila, Philippines and raised in Los Angeles, California. From a young age she was involved with many forms of art. It was not until her later years that she fully developed an appreciation and understanding of outputting visual arts. From this she immersed herself in many mediums. Dabbling with the acrylic and oil paints at first she soon turned her artistic talent towards b/w photography. A few years later she took a chance on ceramics. With distaste for her first class, she was about to give up. It was not until she was put on the wheel that her love for photography was taken over and a new love was instilled in her heart. Many hours were devoted to understanding the techniques for the art of throwing.
Anna spent 3 1/2 years in San Diego starting her artist career while working full time and was a full time student at Platt College. She started her focus on ceramic pieces until the community art studio no longer provided means for throwing on the wheel. As luck would have it, she was able to lock in one of the private studios at the San Diego department which allowed her to show case her work during the monthy Ray at night showings. This was a stressful but exciting time in her life. After her receiving her BS in Graphic/Web Design and 3-D animation, Anna knew it was time to pack up and move back home.
Anna now resides in Sherman Oaks, CA along with her 3 cats where works full time and takes freelance graphic/web projects on the side. Currently she is working on a new body of work in both oil paint and ceramics to and hopes to showcase around Los Angeles. Plans of getting back into B/W photography and printing are in the works. Recently she has started to dabble with sewing and hopes to broaden her artist ideas in all mediums from this new form of art.
